Who We Are

The United Church of Moscow is an American Baptist (ABCUSA) and Disciples of Christ (Christian Church) congregation located in downtown Moscow, Idaho. We are a small but lively group, full of passionate and kind people seeking to love God and love our neighbors (Matthew 22:37-39) within the context of a welcoming church community. We’re comfortable asking questions, wishing to avoid a too-easy certainty, and seek to follow the ways of Christ together. 

Mission and Purpose Statement

The United Church of Moscow is a welcoming and progressive community that lives out Jesus’s teachings through fellowship, worship, community engagement and care, working for justice, supporting one another in our varied faith expressions, and serving all people of the Palouse.

We believe that every person is created in the image of God and is inherently worthy of dignity, love, and belonging. Grounded in the life and teachings of Jesus, we affirm the full inclusion of all people in the life and ministry of the United Church of Moscow. This commitment extends to all aspects of church life, including membership, baptism, ordination, marriage, teaching, leadership, employment, and participation in all ministries and activities.

We are dedicated to being a community that practices radical welcome and justice. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental ability, nationality, or economic status. We strive to be a church where all people are not only welcomed, but affirmed, valued, and empowered to live fully into who God has created them to be.
